Parry Sound Islanders advance in the Russell Cup

The Parry Sound Islanders shutout the South Muskoka Shield 4-0 Monday night advancing them into the North Division Final. Parry Sound took the series 3 games to 1.

The Islanders will now face the New Tecumseth Civics in the Russell Cup North Division Final. This will be a best of 7 series. The Civics won their North Division Semi Final series over Temiscaming 3 games to 1.

New Tecumseth finished the season 2nd overall (1st in the North Division) just ahead of the Islanders who finished 3rd overall (2nd in the North Division). 

Parry Sound faced New Tecumseth 3 times in the regular season wining only one game. The last time the Islanders faced the Civics the Islanders lost 6-2 on home ice. 

No date has been set for the start of the next series yet. We will update you when we hear the schedule.
