Boots and Hearts 2018 Essential Packing List

Excitement is in the air as Ontario’s biggest Country music festival returns for a 7th year this weekend! As you’re getting pumped up for the festival, listening to all of your favourite performers, you should also start packing so you don’t forget anything.

Here are some MUST BRINGS for Boots and Hearts:

    • If you are camping then don’t forget the tent, sleeping bag, and pillow.
    • Also if you are staying on site be sure to bring enough food to last you the whole weekend. The food from the vendors is great but it can get pretty expensive if you rely on just vendor food for the weekend. This brings us to the next item.
    • A large cooler or two with lots of ice. You’ll want to make sure that your food and beverages stay cool all weekend.
    • You can bring a small camp stove with a maximum of 3 x 1 pound propane tanks.
    • Cookware to cook your food with. Plus utensils, plates, bowls, & cups to eat with.
    • Wet naps/Baby wipes. Whether you’re cooking for yourself or eating at one of the many vendors, your hands are sure to get messy at some point. You should also give  them a good wipe before you eat.
    • You may also want to bring a flashlight so you can see around your campsite in the evening or on those late night walks to the porta potties. You may also want to bring some extra toilet paper just in case.
    • If your tent has a way to lock it up, you should definitely bring a lock! Regardless, be sure to keep any valuables on you at all times.
    • Trash bags should be brought. Be kind to your neighbours, the venue, staff, and volunteers. Try to keep your space as clean as possible.
    • Bring towels, and flip flops for the showers. You really don’t want to be bare foot in there!
    • SUNSCREEN!! You will be outdoors for most of the weekend. When the festival ends you want to talk about the great time you had, not about how burnt you got. You may also want to bring a hat to keep the sun off of your head.
    • Sunglasses. Protect your eyes from the sun, you’ll also look better in photos when you’re not squinting.
    • Portable phone charger. You will be taking so many pics, and videos that your battery will get eaten up pretty quick. It’s best to carry around a portable charger in your backpack or pocket. P.S. Be sure to charge your charger before you leave.
    • You may also want to bring a small med kit with some band aids, tylenol, etc…
    • RAIN GEAR! If you’ve been to Boots and Hearts in the past, you’ll likely know how important rain gear is. Rubber boots, rain poncho, etc.
    • One of the most important things to bring is a positive attitude. Everyone is there to have a good time, don’t be that guy or girl that tries to ruin it for everyone.

WHAT YOU SHOULD NOT BRING

    • No non-rounded knives — steak knives, butcher blocks, etc. should be left at home
    • No fireworks, paper (floating) lanterns, incendiary devices or any type of explosive are prohibited
    • No amplified sound systems
    • No tiki torches or excessive amounts of fuel
    • No drones
    • No drugs or drug paraphernalia
