Maurizio’s Releases Statement in Regards to Fire Hall
Last night at Parry Sound Town Council they announced that Parry Sound Bikes had won the bid for the Old Fire Hall building. There were only two bidders in the running for the historic building, the other bidder was Maurizio’s Pizzeria. Maurizio has released a statement, thanking the town for the opportunity.
The statement is below:
I’d like to start off by extending my sincerest thanks to the public of Parry Sound, local business owners, my fellow firefighters and all our wonderful customers for their support by phone, in person and through social media.
I’m ok with sharing my ups and my downs in business, in hopes of sparking someone’s interest in taking a chance in business, or in hopes of inspiring someone. I mean who doesn’t have ups and downs? Ups and downs in business are normal.
Naturally, I feel disappointed by the outcome of the bid but it was an honour to be a part of the process and to have an opportunity at owning a historic building that I have a tremendous amount of respect for. For those of you that don’t know, I’m also a local firefighter and by that nature the fire hall and all it’s historical integrity would have remained a fire hall with our ownership. I am thankful that I have a great community around me whom have shown a tremendous amount of support.
Maurizio’s momentum is building! We are always striving to be better than what we were yesterday. I’ve recently been awarded 1st place in a Toronto Pizza competition, now traveling to Romania March 2nd to March 8th for the European World Pizza Competition representing Canada (and Parry Sound). We are very proud and honoured.
I’m very grateful for this incredible community, and my amazing customers, who motivate me every day! And I thank you for cheering me on!!
Sincerely,
Maurizio Mascioli
