Over $5,000 Raised for Parry Sound Habitat Build

PARRY SOUND, ON – In its fifth year, the Habitat for Humanity Hockey Hat-Trick raffle raised the bar once again in raising over $5,000 for an upcoming build.

Three pairs of Toronto Maple Leaf tickets were up for grabs in the prize draw held on January 27 at the Legion Hall in Parry Sound. First-prize winner is Aaron Barsanti from Bracebridge. Aaron plans to give the tickets to his father from Thunder Bay who will enjoy watching the Leafs battle the Bruins on March 20 at the Air Canada Centre. The second-prize goes to a lucky repeat winner Shannon Lynn from Parry Sound. Shannon won tickets, again this year, to see the Leafs beat-up the Islanders (7 – 1) this past Valentine’s Day. Finally, John Doran from Parry Sound won a pair of tickets to watch the Leafs take on the Florida Panthers, March 28, and picked up the prize with his son John Jr.

Habitat would like to thank Ross McKerron, Don West, Aird and Berlis LLP, SCOTT Bicycle and Winter Sports and 4 Sports Parry Sound for their ticker donations and support of the Hockey Hat Trick Raffle.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners. The local Parry Sound Habitat for Humanity is already in the planning stages of a 2017 build, and the $5,000 will go directly to helping local families own a home for the very first time. The Parry Sound Chapter is currently looking for two families interested in becoming homeowners. Interested families should contact Gregg by calling (705) 744-4210.

If you would like to help Habitat hit ts next fundraising goal, the 6th Annual Giant Yard Sale and Auction is scheduled for Canada Day, July 1, volunteers, donations, and support are always welcomed.
